Microneedling, or collagen induction therapy, is like sending your skin to the gym encouraging it to strengthen, repair, and renew. Healthier skin naturally appears smoother, firmer, and more youthful.

What is Microneedling?

By our late 20s and early 30s, we naturally begin to lose about 1% of our collagen each year. At first, the change is almost unnoticeable until suddenly it isn’t. Fine lines appear, skin feels a little less firm, and we wonder when things shifted so quickly.

Microneedling helps counter this gradual collagen loss by activating your skin’s own healing and rejuvenation process. Think of it as strength training for your skin: a way to encourage resilience, firmness, and long-term vitality from within. When your skin is healthier, it looks more vibrant, youthful, and naturally radiant.

How Does Microneedling Work?

Microneedling uses a specialized device with tiny, sterile needles to create controlled micro-injuries on the surface of the skin. These channels are so small that they’re not visible to the eye, but they initiate a powerful healing response. As the skin begins to repair itself, it naturally increases collagen and elastin production (the essential proteins that keep the complexion smooth, firm, and youthful).

It’s a way of encouraging your skin to renew from within.

Microneedling is a versatile treatment that can help improve a wide range of skin concerns, including the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars, uneven tone, and enlarged pores.

  • Fine lines & wrinkles: By stimulating collagen and elastin, microneedling supports firmer, smoother, more resilient skin.

  • Acne scars: It helps soften and refine superficial scarring by encouraging healthy new skin to form.

  • Uneven skin tone: Increased cell turnover can reduce the look of hyperpigmentation and sun damage, revealing a more even, radiant complexion.

  • Large pores: By boosting collagen around the pore walls, microneedling can minimize their appearance and enhance overall texture and elasticity.

Preparing for Your Treatment
One Week Before:

  • Avoid excessive sun exposure and tanning beds.

  • Discontinue retinol, exfoliants, and active ingredients (AHAs, BHAs, benzoyl peroxide, Vitamin C).

  • Avoid waxing, laser treatments, aggressive skincare treatments, or dermal fillers within the last 3 weeks. Botox should be avoided within 2 weeks of treatment.

  • Stay well-hydrated—healthy, hydrated skin heals best.

24 Hours Before:

  • Avoid alcohol and caffeine to reduce inflammation and bruising.

  • Avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements such as aspirin, ibuprofen, and fish oil (always consult your healthcare provider before stopping any medication).

  • Inform your provider of any active acne, open wounds, infections, or if you’re prone to cold sores. Antiviral medication may be recommended.

  • Arrive with clean skin—no makeup, lotion, sunscreen, or skincare products.

What to Expect
During microneedling, you may experience mild discomfort. Numbing cream is not used as it can interfere with skin healing however most clients find the treatment tolerable. Immediately afterward, your skin may feel warm, tight, red, or sensitive, similar to a mild sunburn. These sensations typically subside within 24–48 hours.

As the skin begins to heal, it may feel dry or slightly rough. Improvements develop gradually in the weeks and months following your treatment as collagen production increases.
